Our gardeners implement sustainable and organic agricultural techniques, like vermi-composting and the use of natural pesticides, biofertilizers and effective micro-organisms, that yield delicious produce including:

Deepening Roots Internship

The garden also serves as a place of learning for hundreds of people each year. The Deepening Roots internship is an intensive multi-disciplinary summer internship that focuses on community-oriented sustainable agriculture together with leadership development, peace-building and nutrition. The purpose of this internship is to cultivate a cadre of youth leaders that will influence policy, implement practical solutions and inspire their generation towards a sustainable future. Started in 2005, Deepening Roots offers university students a chance to get their hands dirty while interacting with and learning directly from leaders in the fields of permaculture, health and wellness, meditation and leadership development. http://www.deepeningroots.org/
